Kurtina Maholmes

Kurtina C. Maholmes is a classically trained soprano and music educator who is excited to begin working with private piano and voice students. She is passionate about helping aspiring musicians build confidence, develop strong musical foundations, and discover the joy of making music.

Kurtina earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Jackson State University, where she received extensive classical vocal training and developed a solid foundation in vocal technique, music theory, diction, and performance. She later earned a Master of Music Education from Mississippi State University, where she expanded her knowledge of effective teaching practices and student-centered learning.

As an elementary music educator, Kurtina enjoys creating engaging and encouraging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for music. She believes every student learns differently and is committed to fostering a positive environment where students feel comfortable growing at their own pace.

Whether introducing beginning pianists to their first notes or helping voice students develop healthy vocal habits and expressive performance skills, Kurtina looks forward to supporting each student’s unique musical journey. She is honored to share her love of music with others and is excited to grow alongside her students as they develop their talents.
