Daniel Parker

Daniel Parker, known professionally as Dstrangzzz, is a genre-defying violinist, composer, and educator originally from Jackson, Mississippi. He began his musical journey in the Academic & Performing Arts Complex (APAC) program within Jackson Public Schools, where his passion for music quickly set him apart. His talent earned him a place at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy, where he graduated in 2011 after receiving world-class training from some of the most respected instructors in the field.

Blending classical technique with hip-hop, soul, and deep Southern roots, Daniel has built a career that bridges tradition and innovation. Under the stage name Dstrangzzz, he brings raw energy and emotion to the violin, captivating audiences in performances that have included opening for artists like Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, and Peabo Bryson.

Now pursuing a PhD in Music Education at the University of Memphis, Daniel’s research centers on how non-Western styles like hip-hop can transform K–12 music classrooms by increasing student engagement, creativity, and inclusivity. Whether on stage or in academia, he remains dedicated to redefining what it means to be a modern musician, educator, and cultural voice.
